- Download, install and launch VideoProc. If you have hardware that allows hardware acceleration, the software will automatically detect it.
- Open the video you want to reduce in the program by dragging it into the program interface or by clicking on the + Video button in the top menu.
- In the bottom menu, choose the video codec to use to compress your original video. For example, the MP4 HEVC format (also called H265), a format that succeeded the H264 format which was used for a long time because of its high performance.
- Click on the RUN button at the bottom right and wait for your computer and the software to work.
In the end, the video created by VideoProc weighs 90Mb against 968Mb at the base, the compression was efficient, mission accomplished! It is also possible to convert a HEVC video into an H264 video (especially if you can’t play a GoPro HERO 6 video captured in HEVC format).
